Finally getting outside this week after being cooped up in the studio for too long. My painting companion Sara and I trudged through the snow to get to this little stream to paint. I was wishing I had my snowshoes along for this one. What a treat to be able to stand quietly (or in Sara's case, sit in the snow) for several hours listening to nothing but the sounds of the water trickling past. Have I mentioned that I love my job!

"We must go out and re-ally oursleves to Nature every day. We must make root, send out some little fibre at least, even every winter day."

Henry David Thoreau
